For parents

A 5-minute practice routine for busy families

  1. Pick a regular moment. After breakfast, bath time, or in the car (as a passenger). Same time each day builds the habit.
  2. Keep it short. 5 minutes, then stop while it's still fun.
  3. Sit together. Young children practise best with a grown-up nearby.
  4. Praise the try. "Great trying!" works better than "That's wrong." Then say the word once more, slowly.
  5. Use real life. Spot words with today's sound on a walk or at the shops.
  6. Track the streak, not perfection. A sticker chart or the in-app badges help children see their effort.
  7. Check in with your child's SLP. Ask which sounds to focus on, if your child sees one.
